Purchasing Manager

Based – North England

Salary - £50,000 plus benefits

Our client is a main market leader in the FMCG industry. The core of the business is the production and manufacturing of there own branded goods and those of which most are found throughout major high street supermarkets. They are now looking to appoint a Purchasing Manager. The role will ideally suit someone looking to make a significant step forward in their career and seize the opportunity to progress within the organisation.

You will have a hands on role to manage a portfolio of direct goods and services, primarily in the food and packaging categories and provide end to end sourcing supplier relationship, including extender and auction capabilities. A key feature of this role is the ability to develop the function as well as the categories of spend on a commercially relevant basis. Influencing stakeholders, achieving financial savings through procurement activity and a superb track record of business performance through purchasing strategy.

Ideally a member of CIPS, you will have a sound understanding of procurement best practise and processes, knowledge in food ingredients, packaging and manufacturing and a sound understanding of logistics.
